ZOanthrope

Hive fleet Scorpio makes extensive use of the extreme Tyranid warrior mutation known as the Zoanthrope. The creatures are easily identified by their large exposed brain. These brains glow a luminescent green due to their saturation with psychic energy. In addition to keep this organ functioning properly considerable amounts of bio-electric energy is needed which adds to the unusual glowing.
 
The Zoanthropes of Scorpio are as deadly as those of other hive fleets and it is well known for using it's lethal powers to exterminate infantry and tanks easily. They are also known for employing a strong psychic mental scream to disrupt prey coordination. This scream also induces panic easily and it is often used to herd worker prey and young out of hiding so they may be absorbed by the swarm.
 
Scorpio Zoanthropes also seem to be able to adjust their powers over a period of several hours to enable them to assume different roles in the hive fleet as it is needed. This enables them to function as weapons but also as command and control organisms by broadcasting the imperatives of the Hive mind to the lesser creatures.
