TOXIFEX

The Toxifex is a species of the Carnifex genus which has been created to maximize the species chemical warfare capabilities. It is a loathsome creature which constantly oozes toxic substances from numerous chemical producing organs. The Toxifex is an evil tempered monster and constantly seeks to spread its contamination to all it finds. The Toxifex moves upon prey to release to poison them to death with its venom's and spores as well as grasping them with it's monstrous claws and butchering them.
 
The Toxifex uses a unique version of the deathspitter to unleash its caustic poisons at a distance. The deathspitter is much larger than normal and uses three barrels to fire its acidic grubs and splatter its targets with searing, caustic mucus. The Toxifex also uses a deadly symbiote worm which lives inside its tail. If any enemy should venture close the worm whips out to inject a highly corrosive cocktail of chemicals into its victim.
 
The Toxifex was developed by Hive fleet Scorpio to act in highly polluted environments in the first wave of invasion before the rest of the Tyranids have developed the needed adaptations to thrive in the hostile landscape. Within the planetary hives of Scorpio the Toxifex lurks in the lowest levels of the hive. In these areas the toxic by-products of the hive are recycled. The Toxifex works in these areas to maintain the recycling systems and repair damage. It will also hunt for any signs of unwanted visitor to the hive.
