HIVE SCORPIONs

Hive Scorpions are scorpion-like Tyranid warriors, both intelligent and powerful. They are armed with a variety of symbiotes. They have a tactical role in the swarm, both offensive and defensive. Their bodies are heavily armored and they use their powerful grasping claws and teeth to fight at close range. The Hive Scorpion's primary weapon is located on the tail. This is typically a ranged symbiote.
 
This weapon incorporates a bio-targeter-eye symbiote which scans for prey. The Hive Scorpions will pound the target with their weapons and move in for the kill. The Hive Scorpions weapons are highly venomous to augment their capabilities.
 
Hive Scorpions often control swarms of Gaunts and Rippers as they work in Tyranid territory. Hive Scorpions have a mentality of a rabid dog towards anything that interferes with the workers. Despite this voraciousness Hive Scorpions will be very calculated in controlling the swarms. Hive Scorpions use their brutal logic to achieve the highest levels of productivity from the workers. They also use their intelligence to coordinate the swarms to repel, surround and demolish an enemy.
